Taking Care of Your Shaving Razor

Getting your hands on the best razor for men you can find is only one thing, next you need to take proper care of it.  By taking good care of your razor you are not only extending its life, but you are also ensuring you get the best results possible without hurting your skin. Here are some tips that will help you keep your razor in good shape.
  • Replace your blades constantly.  It doesn’t matter which type of razor we are talking about here (unless it is a straight edge razor, which requires sharpening), you need to replace your blades regularly.  Though opinions vary, we believe that a blade shouldn’t be used for more than 2 weeks.  Just observe if the razor isn’t bringing the same results as when you started.
  • Pat your razor dry with a towel after each use.  Water on the blade will wear it out quicker and may even develop rust, something that you don’t need on your face! Just pat it dry quickly and finish.  This simple step can save you a lot of skin problems!
  • As an extra step, I use a shaving foam called Eco-Armour.  What’s great about this shaving foam is that you can put a little on the blade and it keeps it protected and sharp for more time.  If you can find these products in your area, they are worth trying out, but that would be a good material for another post…
Remember, a well-cared baled will give you the best shaving results!
